Living in your means... this is what everyone must learn and practice.
In Malay "Ukurlah Baju di Badan Sendiri - Hidup Mengikut Kemampuan".
Oprah Winfrey says, "Living in your mean does not downgrade your quality life, and still can eat healthy food. You can go for vacation and family activity as you wish. Its protects you from stress instead of debts."
Some people think I'm tired of working so, its up to me how to spend it.
For those who are thrifty looks so stingy but .......... a bigger problem happens to those who is ....
spendthrift will end with unstoppable debts.
Tips to live in your means :
- Find free stuff in the Internet & public services like library etc. Borrow CD, DVD, books, magazine from library instead of buying them.
- Do family activity without involving money like bicycle cycling in garden, fishing, picnic etc.
- Use telephone wisely - get the best packages line telephone
- Cook at home and pack food to office.
- Get simple menu but healthy food.
- Buy only fresh food on sale. You can store in fridge for a week or a months. Make sure space in fridge always neat.
- List down cheap groceries and where to buy.
- Collect coupon, point for groceries in the paper or Internet
- List down groceries for a week and a month. Use a book with 2 side table which is what is needed and what is your wish.
- Always tidy up house to make a fresh look. Do house chores together with spouse.
- To avoid in term of using money for bills, you can put money for bill into envelope and put it in the right place. Pay bills in time to avoid charges.
- Never pampered child with money or expensive stuff but educate them to focus on study and be independent.
- You still can do activity at home with family like scrabble, monopoly, do house chores together instead of filling fuel to another distance.
- Do loans only when needed
- Do savings, use credit card wisely
Notes :
- Cook at home, make a fresh look everyday at home. "Rumahku Syurgaku"
- Never put unwanted things in house. Old clothes but still in good condition give away to whom needed or welfare house. Always do 5S (sisih, susun, sapu, simpan, selenggara).
- Put a target each year for vacation but with savings.
- You still can have your meals with family at Kenny Rogers, Pizza, KFC, Mc Donald or any other restaurant if you wish but let it once a week or two.
